[It stands to reason that Vash knows about the recent developments with Nick and Livio. He'd given his blessing, so naturally he would expect to know when things came to fruition. Not for any purposes aside from being happy for his boyfriend, mind you. But still.
All that is to say, when he spots Livio approaching, Vash practically grins. It's vibrant, and it's very much real. It's nothing like the fake smiles he'd offered Livio in their heartspace. Good news!]
Hiya, Livio. I've been alright, but probably not near as good as you. [His brows lift, coming dangerously close to waggling.] Congratulations, by the way!
[oh, god. this is so embarrassing, actually. after that display, livio can't even look vash in the eye. he stares right down at the ground, as a matter of fact, as his face gets increasingly redder.]
As me -- ? [there's a tiny whimper after his voice cracks significantly. further mortification.] Jeez... thanks.
I mean -- that's... what I wanted to say. To you. Was "thank you."
[Okay, maybe Vash feels a little bad. The voice crack was unexpected, to say the least. He dials back some of the energy, grin diminishing to a still lively smile. He doesn't seem upset at least. Just trying to be nice!]
You've got nothing to thank me for. You and I have something important in common — we want Nick to be happy. [He flaps his hand a few times.] I'll tell you what I told him. My whole deal is love and peace. And love sometimes goes further than one person.
[A shrug, entirely unbothered.]
Besides, you deserve a regular reminder of the good things out there. Of what it's like to be loved.
[he really is so sweet... livio comes in for a great big bear hug, one that's less restrained than vash has yet to get out of him. and his voice is softer, too.]
I'm real glad Nick has you lookin' after him, Mr. Vash. He's in good hands.
[Livio really does give the best hugs. It's hard not to feel safe and protected while nestled up right here. Granted, he probably shouldn't think too hard about how cozy it is, or how he'd like to bury his face against his chest any more than he already has. That's a line they haven't crossed yet.]
Now, c'mon. [Vash leans back, just a hint scolding.] We're boyfriends-in-law now, right? No more callin' me Mr. Vash! It's just Vash to you.
[And then he immediately softens right up.]
But I could say the same to you. No way Nick's gonna get hurt as long as we're around. I can promise you that!
[vash's proximity to livio's face is... unfortunate, because at the term "boyfriends-in-law," he booms with laughter.
after he catches himself and settles down, though, his smile is bashful once again. really... he can't promise the same, not out loud. as much as he hates to admit it to himself, nick finds trouble. he always has, and livio isn't about to order him around to get him to stop. but still...]
I reckon between the two of us, we oughta be able to take care of him even if somethin' does happen. The more folks who got his back, the better.

I'm still grateful.
... I don't s'pose you'd be up for another one's those hugs?
